The control device comprises a vibration sensor and an actuator, both of which are connectable to a control unit. The actuator includes an active component for converting an ac voltage supplied to it from the control unit into dimensional changes, which applies a force to the cutting tool holder. The actuator is mounted using at least two fasteners in such a way that at least the majority of it is located outside the tool holder.
