New overexpressed protein in prostate cancer.; A new gene and protein overexpressed in prostate cancer has been identified and sequenced. In the present invention it is demonstrated to be overexpressed in prostate adenocarcinoma by RT-PCR and Western blot technique. The expression of this protein is correlated with tumor proliferation.; They have been generated specific antibodies which specifically detect the protein in both cell lines and in normal and tumor tissues using human immunological methods. Using these antibodies, we demonstrated that the protein is overexpressed in most human prostate adenocarcinomas, so that the detection of this transcript and protein is a new marker of these tumors, with potential utility in diagnosis. This protein is also a target protein for the identification of compounds antitumor therapies.
