A fade resistant dyed carpet made of ozone woven sheath / core stained with a sheath substantially or completely covering the core fibers. The cover is configured as fiber polymer which is inherently chemically compatible and is composed and is selected from resistant to dye migration and yet inherently chemically-compatible with the core polymer polymers. The surface fibers are dyed with at least one acid dye, basic dye or disperse dye and resist fading by ozone as indicated by a total color difference CIEL * a * b * from the original unexposed sample after at least three cycles of ozone fading that is less by half of total color difference CIEL * a * b * having a composite fiber substantially or completely said polyamide component dyed with the same dyes. The fibers can be wired and heatset in which case even more substantial improvement in ozone resistance, service life is observed.
