The underwater pump has a cylindrical body (1) with a jacket (3). A movable rod (2) is provided in the jacket, which supports a float (15) at the upper end. A plunger (5) is fixed at the lower end of the movable rod, and is fixed by the lower end to a piling (21) attached to seabed. A pipe (29) with a bypass duct is provided for leading to an intake valve (23) and another bypass duct leading to a check valve (24) in communication with a chamber (7) underneath the plunger. The intake valve is complemented by a lower cylindrical body (49) with holes having a filter to allow water suction.
