The device is for measuring the potential of transmembrane action in cellular preparations under the action of electromagnetic fields of variable frequency and intensity. It consists basically of a microscope (12) provided with a television camera (13), in the observation zone of which is placed a Petri plate (1), in the interior of which a support (2) is arranged with the interior turned down in the form of an inverted blunt cone, of transparent plastic, which contains the cellular preparation (7). Around the Petri plate is arranged a solenoid (3), circular in shape, connected to a generator of electromagnetic fields (4) of variable frequency and intensity, enabling an electromagnetic field to be applied to the cellular preparation. Measurement of the transmembrane potentials is effected by a micro-pipette with internal electrode (3) connected to an amplifier of membrane pinching (9) via a pre-amplifier (8), the signal being observed with a graphic recorder (10) and a cathodic ray oscillograph (11). A micro-manipulator micro-metrically approximates the micropipette with internal electrode to the membrane of the cell to be measured.
