Escherichia coli (EPEC) mammalian, non-human, attenuated, comprising a deletion of a sequence of a gene encoding intimin, wherein said deletion comprises the complete coding sequence or part of the coding sequence, resulting in a mutation displacement of the pattern, or resulting in a transcriptional stop signal or translation, characterized by further said deletion fully eliminates the expression of functional intimin protein one.
