The present invention relates to the staphylococcus aureus genes involved in biofilm formation and antibiotic resistance. These g enes, their transcriptional regulatory regions and gene products may be used for regulating biofilm formation or increasing sensitivity to antimicrobial agents as well as identifying compounds that are useful in commercially important fields such as manufacturing and healthcare.
