Disclosed are electrically conductive current collector plates for use in liquid feed direct methanol micro fuel cell applications wherein the plates comprise graphite fibers and/or graphite powder and a polymer resin, preferably the polymer is selected from a liquid crystalline polymer, a thermoset and a thermoplastic polymer, and most preferably the polymer is liquid crystalline polymer. Also disclosed are conductive plates for use in liquid feed direct methanol micro fuel cell applications having different flow field designs and optionally including current collecting grooves.
