According to the invention, a continuous axial or radial opening (RE) is cut into a closed reactor core (DK) by means of a water-jet guided laser. The inventive method makes it possible to create a continuous radial opening (RE) from the inside to the outside, placing it longitudinally between the upper and lower front face of the reactor core such that said opening is defined by the reactor core towards said front faces. The precision of the inventive method enables very small non-linear reactors with easy-to-spool closed reactor cores to be produced.
