A coaster (10) has a disc shaped plastic bottom member (11) having an upwardly extending peripheral rim, and a bottom wall within the rim. A disc shaped plastic top peripheral rim of the top member has a downwardly extending peripheral rim and a top wall within the rim. The peripheral rim of the top member (13) is sized and arranged to be received within the peripheral rim of the bottom member (11) forming a hollow closed chamber between the upper surface and the lower surface, which preferrably contains sounding pellets. An array of protrusions may be formed on one of the top surface and the bottom surface.
