The invention relates to the provision of services using mobile communication means and makes it possible to accelerate information acquisition. The inventive method consists in sending a SMS message-request for receiving information from a mobile telephone, via the Internet. A cellular communication provider forwards said message in the form of an E-mail message to a determined server. Said server analyses the request, retrieves data bases and returns an answer in the form of the E-mail message to the provider, who converts said message into an SMS-message and sends it to a corresponding mobile telephone.
