An aniline derivative and a metal complex thereof which are excellent in conductivity, processability, electrical stability, thermal stability, mechanical stability, etc. and are advantageously usable as, e.g., conductive molecules in various fields. The aniline derivative is one represented by the following formula (I), wherein the repeating units comprise (A) or (A') and/or (B) or (B') as essential units and optionally further contain (C) or (C'), or an oxide thereof.
