Mirror panel (1) production from a metallic support frame (2) and a plastic film (10) involves: coating at least one surface of the film with aluminum; tensioning the film on the frame, with the metallized surface on the outside of the frame; keeping the film in position on the frame; and passing the assembly into a retraction heating tunnel to provide uniform tension of the film on the frame. An independent claim is given for a mirror fabricated according to the procedure outlined above.
