The systems (100, 200, 300) disclosed herein can be used to charge the cost of shipment of a package (40) to an appropriate cost center (122) and sub-category (123) thereof through the use of a procurement card. Upon receiving an invoice from a procurement card provider (30), the sender (110) of a package (40) has all data (114, 115, 118, 121) required to pay for the cost of shipment from an appropriate cost center (122) due to a series of data relationships stored by a carrier computer system (20), the procurement card provider (30), and/or possibility third party data processors (70) participating in a shipment transaction.
