ANTIFREEZE SOLUTION, AND RUST INHIBITOR CAPABLE OF BEING USED AS COMPONENT THEREOF

An antifreeze solution which comprises water as the main component thereof and glycerol, does not contain ethylene glycol, has a freezing point of -20°C or lower under atmospheric pressure in the state of a stock solution and has a specific composition. The antifreeze solution is excellent in the easiness in handling and the friendliness to the environment, does not contain the toxic chemicals designated by Environmental Agency such as ethylene glycol, and produces a liquid waste which contains no substances adversely affecting the environment and is easy and simple to subject to a waste treatment, and thus can be suitably used as an additive to a heating medium for a heat exchanging device, in particular, a radiator solution for an internal combustion engine such as an automobile engine and be suitably used for preventing the freezing of a road and the like.
