A parsing method comprising the steps of storing in a memory a plurality of tables related to address data and each containing sets of data each of which is composed of reference data corresponding to a keyword and referenced table data corresponding to the reference data and flag data, extracting one table from the memory, extracting target data form stream data, comparing the target data with reference data in each set of data included in the extracted table, selecting referenced table data corresponding to the reference data matching the target data and the flag data, and outputting the table corresponding to the referenced table data selected from the memory by using the selected referenced table data as address data.
