The invention relates to a method for the separation of gaseous components from technical gases in which the gas components are washed out of the technical gas (1), by means of a wash (2). The gas components are washed out in a gas wash at a temperature of + 15 ° to - 60 °C, whereby an ethylene glycol dimethyl ether or a mixture of different ethylene glycol dimethyl ethers is used, said washing agent having a fixed point below - 30 °C and a boiling point at normal pressure of below 275 °C and a molecular mass of less than 230 g/mol.
