PURPOSE: A gene-defective Cyanobacteria, and methods for increasing salt resistance of plants and productivity of PHB(poly-beta-hydroxybutyrate) using the same are provided. The productivity of plants is improved by minimizing damage by salts. CONSTITUTION: Cta1 gene-defective Cyanobacteria, Synechocystis sp. PCC6083 Cta1 (KCTC 10247BP) is provided, wherein Synechocystis sp. PCC6083 Cta1 (KCTC 10247BP) is obtained by isolating Cta1 gene, damaging the isolated Cta1 gene, inserting the damaged Cta1 gene into a vector to construct a plasmid pGEM Z, and transforming Synechocystis sp. PCC6083 with pGEM Z using humongous recombination. A method for increasing productivity of PHB(poly-beta-hydroxybutyrate) comprises culturing Synechocystis sp. PCC6083 Cta1 (KCTC 10247BP) in a medium.
