PDT Early detection of lung cancer using PDT-photosensitizers and fluorescence sputum cytology

PURPOSE: A method is provided to achieve improved accuracy of early detection of lung cancer, while preventing damages of the lung of the patient. CONSTITUTION: A method comprises a step of performing a PBS treatment to the sampled expectoration of a patient, shaking the PBS treated expectoration, performing an ammonium thioglycolate treatment to the expectoration, and filtering the expectoration by disposing the expectoration on the sucrose solution of 45%; a step of producing a sample slide by cyto-spinning, from the expectoration, the sample where the mucus is removed; a step of staining the sample slide by using a fluorescent photosensitizer solution of density of 1mm; and a step of washing the resultant structure by using PBS, drying the resultant structure in the air, covering the dried structure with an oil film and a cover, and determining the existence of tumor cell through the use of fluorescent microscope.
