PURPOSE: A device for transforming an XML(extensible Markup Language) document and a computer-readable recording medium are provided to facilitate a mapping work by graphically displaying a source DTD(Document Type Definition) and an architecture of an object DTD, and to transform the XML document by an XSL(extensible Style sheet Language) document reflecting a limit condition of the DTD. CONSTITUTION: A DTD parser(110) generates an arrangement of each element and attribute by parsing the original and the object DTD. A DTD visualizer(120) generates the original and the object DTD tree by displaying the element and the attribute as a button, and expressing a relationship between the buttons as an edge. A node describer(130) displays a detail explanation of matched nodes by receiving one button selected from the user. A DTD mapper(140) generates the mapping information by receiving leaf node buttons from both trees. An XSLT(XSL Transformations) document generator(160) generates a mapping tree including only the nodes mapped to the object DTD tree from the original DTD tree, and each path to each node from each node or a root node. An XML document transformer(170) transforms the XML document into the XML document.
