LNG PROCESS FOR REMOVING NITROGEN FROM LNG

Improved surface, method of removing vaginal from liquefied natural gas (LNG) using reflux heat exchanger. The heat exchanger cools the relatively hot high pressure LNG stream with cold low pressure LNG and the high pressure stream in a countercurrent flow and partially vaporizes the low pressure LNG stream in the reflux heat exchanger. The resulting steam strips the low pressure LNG stream of nitrogen. The cold low pressure LNG stream is produced by expanding the cooled high pressure LNG strip. The steam produced by the expansion is combined with the steam produced in the exchanger and the steam recovered in the overhead. Poorly produced LNG in nitrogen is recovered from the bottom of the exchanger.
