Wastewater treatment utilizing the equencing batch reactor supplemented with inner circulation systems

PURPOSE: Provided is a method for treating sewage using an inner circulation type sequencing batch reactor, the method being capable of increasing removal efficiency of nitrogen and phosphorous and steadily removing nitrogen and phosphorous even though ingredients and flow rate of sewage are fluctuated by effectively using organic material in sewage. CONSTITUTION: The method is performed by using a sequencing batch reactor with a multi-functional tank(1), a main reactor(2), an automatic transfer device(6), an inner circulation device(11) and a sludge return pipe line(24), and the method comprises the steps of (a) driving the inner circulation device based on operation condition, transferring reactant in the multi-functional tank(1) to the main reactor and supplying carbon source needed for denitrification and dephosphorylation to the main reactor, (b) operating the main reactor as sequencing batch reactor, (c) operating the multi-functional tank as an anaerobic reactor or an anoxic reactor when the main reactor is operation, and (d) operating the multi-functional tank as an equalization basin when the main reactor is stopped.
