PURPOSE: A method for obtaining porous metal on the surface of which micro pores are formed by selectively eluting a metal having relatively weak corrosion resistance in dissimilar metals in the alloy state in an acid or alkali solution, eluting the metal electrochemically or heating the metal in the reduced pressure state to evaporate certain metal constituents is provided. CONSTITUTION: The method is characterized in that some alloy elements are selectively removed by chemically treating, electrically treating or vacuum heat treating the surface of an alloy metal green compact prepared by casting, mechanical processing, forging or rolling so that micro pores are formed on the surface of the metal green compact by the removed metal elements, wherein the alloy metal is an alloy containing a matrix of copper, 10 to 40 wt.% of zinc, and 5 to 10 wt.% of tin, wherein the alloy metal has an alloy composition comprising a matrix of gold, and a balance of other metals in which the total sum of silver, nickel, copper and zinc is less than 50 wt.%, wherein the alloy metal has an alloy composition comprising a matrix of silver and less than 50 wt.% of the total sum of nickel, copper and zinc, wherein the chemical treatment is performed using a chemical solution selected from hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, nitric acid, hydrofluoric acid or a mixed solution thereof having a concentration of 3 to 20%, and wherein the vacuum heat treatment is performed in the temperature range of 300 to 900 deg.C at a reduced pressure atmosphere of 10 torr or less.
