Map-matching method considering road connection and road width in navigation system

PURPOSE: A map matching method in a navigation system is provided to improve a map matching speed by reading out a link corresponding to a present position of a vehicle with considering a road connection and a road width. CONSTITUTION: A coordinate value regarding a present position of a vehicle is calculated(S30). A link corresponding to the calculated coordinate value is detected(S31). Then, it is checked whether or not there is a link positioned within a search range based on the calculated coordinated value(S32). If there is no link, a matching link list is returned(S33). If there is a link positioned within the search range, it is checked whether or not the link is connected to an initial point link(S34). The link is recorded in the link list. Then, a map matching is carried out(S36).
