PURPOSE: A high density magnetic recording medium having a coercivity distribution of a uniform fine domain, and a fine and uniform crystalline powder size distribution, and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to offer a CoCrPt alloy thin film having a structural characteristic fit to the high density magnetic recording medium. CONSTITUTION: The CoCrPt alloy thin film is the (Co82Cr18)100-xPtx alloy thin film that a Pt composition is 1-14 atomic percents. A Ti thin film is placed to a lower part of the (Co82Cr18)100-xPtx alloy thin film. A thickness of the (Co82Cr18)100-xPtx alloy thin film is 400 angstroms and the thickness of the Ti thin film is 1100 angstroms.
