PURPOSE: A mobile communication system, a mobile station, a base station, and a packet communication method used therefor are provided to enable a mobile station to transmit dedicated physical channel data at predetermined timing, so that a base station can decide whether to stop transceiving a DPCCH(Dedicated Physical Control Channel), thereby reducing power consumption of the mobile station. CONSTITUTION: A base station(1) comprises as follows. Base station transceivers transceive a packet with a mobile station(2). A base station state updating unit informs the mobile station(2) of transceiving state update information showing that a packet receivable state is updated in the mobile station(2). The mobile station(2) comprises as follows. Mobile station transceivers transceive the packet with the base station(1). A mobile station state updating unit sets either an active state in which control information is received to transmit the packet or a suspend state in which the control information is not received.
