PURPOSE: A general purpose computing device is provided to offer a user with a common user interface for other computing platforms including printed documents. CONSTITUTION: An image capture unit(204) generates the captured image data by capturing an image of a target area that an input device is located. A processor(206) processes the captured image data. A memory(207) stores data. The image capture unit captures multiple images of multiple areas of a target. The image that the input device is located includes an image pattern or data expressing a position of the target area. The processor detects the data in a captured image expressing the position of the target area and generates the information expressing user input by processing detected data.
