PURPOSE: A solenoid valve is provided to prevent the temperature of a coil from rising even if applying an electric current for a long time, to restrict the reduction of suction force caused by the temperature rise of the coil, and to make the solenoid valve small. CONSTITUTION: A valve seat unit(11) comprises a high pressure port(12) opened to a control pressure region of high pressure; a low pressure port(13) opened to a discharge region of low pressure; a fluid passage(14) formed between the correspondent high and low pressure ports; and a valve seat(15) disposed at the correspondent fluid passage. A plunger body(10) has a plunger(8) arranged in a hollow column-shaped plunger chamber(7) to freely reciprocate and a valve(9) installed at one end of the plunger to open and close the fluid passage together with the valve seat, and the plunger body is supported to a position that the valve is opened by fluid pressure of the control pressure region in a non-electric current application state of a coil. The coil is received in a case(1) and supported to a position that the plunger body is closed by the valve by driving the plunger in applying the electric current. A coil cooling liquid storage space(2a) is formed between the outer periphery of the coil and the case. A coil cooling fluid passage communicates between the control pressure region and the coil cooling liquid storage space, flows the fluid from the control pressure region into the coil cooling liquid storage space, and has a fine diameter unit(9a) not to affect pressure of the fluid in the control pressure region.
