PURPOSE: A haptic interface device is provided to offer a manipulation feeling according to diverse manipulations such as rotation, horizontal/vertical movement, and screen pointing through haptic sense on a single manipulation part. CONSTITUTION: A manipulation part(12) is manipulated by a manipulator. A driver(20) supplies a driving force to the manipulation part in order to supply a repulsive force to the manipulator. A detector(52) detects/outputs a manipulating situation or a position within an available range of the manipulation part as a signal. A controller(56) controls operation of the driver depending on the signal output from the detector based on the interface definition information defining specification information when the manipulation part is operated as an interface device to be activated.
