PURPOSE: An apparatus for testing abrasion of a piston ring and a liner of an engine is provided to improve reliability of the abrasion test by performing the abrasion test in a condition substantially identical to a real operational condition of the piston ring and the liner. CONSTITUTION: An abrasion testing apparatus for a piston ring and a liner includes a bottom plate(1) having a vibration-damping unit(1a). The vibration-damping unit(1a) includes a spring or a shock absorber. A mounting section(1b) is installed on the bottom plate(1) in order to install a cylinder block(2) equipped with an oil pan(3). The cylinder block(2) has a crank shaft(4). A lower end of a connecting rod(5) is connected to a journal of the crank shaft(4). A piston pin(6a) of a piston(6) inserted into a bore of the cylinder block(2) is connected to an upper portion of the connecting rod(5).
