ELECTRODE FOR FUEL CELL FOR PREVENTING REACTIVE GAS FLOW IN GAS PATH OF SEPARATOR FROM PASSING ACROSS SURROUNDING GAS-DIFFUSION LAYER AND, DERIVING UNIFORM REACTION OVER ELECTRODE SURFACE
PURPOSE: Provided is an electrode for a fuel cell to prevent reactive gas flow in a gas path of a separator from passing across a surrounding gas-diffusion layer and, to derive uniform reaction over electrode surface, to obtain defined electric power. CONSTITUTION: The electrode comprises a cell unit MEA(1), an electrolyte film(2), an anode electrode(3) located on one side of the electrolyte film(2) and a cathode electrode(4) located on the other side of the electrolyte film(2) integrated together. The cell unit(1) is positioned between two flow path boards(5,6). Both of the boards(5,6) have dimple gas paths(5a,6a) on both sides, respectively. Both of the anode and the cathode(3,4) have gas-diffusion layers(3b,4b) made of thin carbon paper and catalyst layers(3a,4a) consisting of carbon particles containing rare-metals such as platinum or alloy thereof and ion-exchange component (polymer electrolyte).
