-2000 METHOD FOR CARRING OUT SLICE MODE IN IMT-2000 VIDEO TELEPHONE TERMINAL

PURPOSE: A method for realizing a slice mode of an IMT-2000 video phone terminal is provided to adaptively select the number of macro blocks to be transmitted per slice to reduce a video transmission delay. CONSTITUTION: Target transmission bits are input. Each macro block is encoded and the number of accumulated bits is compared to the number of the target transmission bits. When the number of bits accumulated for each macro block is smaller than the number of the target transmission bits, the number of macro blocks is increased until the number of accumulated bits becomes larger than the number of the target transmission bits and bits for each macro block is accumulated. When the number of bits accumulated for each macro block is larger than the number of the target transmission bits, the number of macro block is considered as the number of macro block per slice and macro block data and slice header information are transmitted together.
