PURPOSE: A whitening agent, a method for preparing the same and an external composition for skin whitening containing the same are provided, which whitening agent, kojic acid-substituted peptide derivatives effectively inhibit activity of tyrosinase relating to melanin formation, and have improved bio-affinity and low side-effects. CONSTITUTION: The kojic acid-substituted peptide derivatives represented by formula (1), AA1-...-AAn-X, are provided, wherein X is one or more skin whitening materials having phenol, phenol like function group; n is an integer of 1 to 4; AAn is an amino acid; and the skin whitening material is selected from kojic acid, hydroquinone, arbutin and gallic acid. The method for preparing the kojic acid-substituted peptide derivatives comprises the steps of: (1) connecting a linker to kojic acid to prepare kojic acid derivatives; and (2) introducing the kojic derivatives into peptide, wherein the linker is carbonyldiimidazole.
