The components and functions of an arithmetic unit are described which computes the pre-whitening filter function from real time autocorrelation values of cluttered radar data. The complete digital algorithm for a certain input function is given as a computer print-out. The equipment for adaptive clutter suppression consists of: a correlation which derives the autocorrelation function as information on the interference in real time, an arithmetic unit called adaptive clutter filter which calculates the weights for an optimal decorrelation filter using an iterative method. The arithmetic unit is described. It is a realization of an algorithm for suppression of interfering signals with known correlation functions.
