PURPOSE: An optical communication method using an electrooptic fiber type WDM(Wavelength Division Multiplexer) is provided to perform optical communication with a new equipment as well as an existing equipment through wavelengths outputted to each port. CONSTITUTION: A length of a waveguide implemented in an electrooptic fiber type WDM(320) is controlled to a point corresponding to peak condition of wavelength to be outputted, consequently a wavelength of specific bands(e.g., 1310, 1430 and 1550nm and 1370, 1490 and 1610nm) is extracted and the extracted wavelength passes through a port so as to be used for communication. For example, two wavelengths(1310 and 1550nm) pass through one port and are used for optical communication with an existing equipment(330) and two other wavelengths(1490 and 1610nm) pass through a different port and are used for optical communication with a new equipment(340). The electrooptical fiber WDM(320) extracts multiple wavelengths of a desired band by extending a waveguide to a certain length, passes the extracted wavelengths to corresponding ports, thereby information of several channels is transmitted with different wavelengths.
