PURPOSE: A strut friction reducing device of a Macpherson strut suspension is provided to reduce friction of the shock absorber by minimizing the difference between the ideal support line and the central axis of the spring with moving the lower seat of the spring back and forth in bumping or rebounding the coil spring. CONSTITUTION: A strut friction reducing device comprises a hydraulic pressure generating unit operating for generating hydraulic pressure in a hydraulic chamber(17) in moving a piston rod(7); a stopper(31) formed in the outer periphery of the cylinder(5) of the shock absorber(1) to support the lower part of a lower seat(11) according to a spring(3) inserted to the shock absorber through a slot(29); an actuator(33) formed between the lower seat of the spring and the outer periphery of the shock absorber cylinder and operated according to hydraulic pressure from the hydraulic pressure generating unit to move the lower seat of the spring in the slot to the shock absorber; and a return spring(41) formed between the lower seat of the spring and the outer periphery of the shock absorber cylinder to return the lower seat of the spring in the slot to the shock absorber.
