PURPOSE: A reflective LCD device and a fabrication method thereof are provided to enable an insulating film having a concavo-convex structure under a reflective electrode to protect a switching element, and to irregularly dispose areas having different film thickness, thereby preventing the switching element from deteriorating during a fabrication. CONSTITUTION: A transparent electrode(55) is installed on a glass substrate(53). A TFT(44) is installed on a glass substrate(40). An insulating layer(45) is installed on the TFT(44) while comprising a concavo-convex structure(45a) on the surface thereof. A reflective electrode(48) is installed to reflect the concavo-convex structure(45a), and is connected to the TFT(44). A liquid crystal layer(56) is inserted between the transparent electrode(55) and the reflective electrode(48).
