PURPOSE: A system and a method for offering a flexible and durable time/weight-based HW(HardWare) ID of an HWID-based licensing system are provided to offer the HWID validly maintained even if a system configuration is changed. CONSTITUTION: The current ID information for each system component is obtained(310). The current ID information is compared with the stored component ID information from the activated HWID(320). In case that matching is presented in a specified component type, a matching score is increased as much as a value in a weight vector associated with the component type(330). After considering all components, the matching score is compared with a threshold matching score in order to determine that the matching is successful(340).
