摘要

PURPOSE: An LCD device and a fabrication method thereof are provided to realize a multi-gap structure having desired gaps such that transmissivity of light passing through a liquid crystal layer can be maximum, by using a film thickness difference of color filter layers in each pixel, while disposing pillar-shaped spacers, thereby supporting the gaps in each pixel. CONSTITUTION: The first gap area has the first gap for inserting a liquid crystal layer between the first substrate(100) and the second substrate(200). The second gap area has the second gap smaller than the first gap. The first pillar-shaped spacer is formed in the first gap area on the first substrate(100). The second pillar-shaped spacer is formed in the second gap area on the first substrate(100). A contact area where the first pillar-shaped spacer is contacted with the first substrate(100) is bigger than a contact area where the second pillar-shaped spacer is contacted with the first substrate(100).
