PURPOSE: An externally reinforced square reservoir tank and a construction method thereof are provided to enable assembly of divided stainless steel made panels, resulting in simplification in construction method. CONSTITUTION: The externally reinforced square reservoir tank comprises an upper panel(2) consisting of a plurality of divided square plates and a pair of reinforcements(15,15a) for use in the assembly of adjacent divided plates, side panels(4) disposed at edges of the upper panel, each having side panel reinforcements(16,16a) and corner reinforcements(17), a lower panel(3) having a pair of turn buckles(18,18a) connected to upper ends of the side panel reinforcements in perpendicular to the upper reinforcements, a rectangular drain panel(22) protruding downward from the center of the lower panel, and a concrete pad(5) formed with a seating groove(5a) for receiving the drain panel and a front incision(5b) for use in the mounting of a support frame(5c).
