FIBROUS TITANIUM OXIDE PARTICLES HAVING EXCELLENT FILM-FORMING PROPERTIES, ADHESION, FILM HARDNESS, MECHANICAL STRENGTH AND WEAR RESISTANCE AS WELL AS HIGH TRANSPARENCY AND HIGH REFRACTIVE INDEX, PREPARING METHOD THEREOF AND USES OF PARTICLES
PURPOSE: Provided is a fibrous titanium oxide particle having excellent film-forming properties, adhesion, film hardness, mechanical strength and wear resistance as well as high transparency and high refractive index. CONSTITUTION: The fibrous titanium oxide particle has an average minor axial width(W) ranging from 5 to 40 nm, an average major axial length(L) ranging from 25 to 1000 nm and an average aspect ratio(L/W) ranging from 5 to 200, and is prepared by the steps of: performing hydrothermal treatment of water-dispersed titanium oxide-base particle sol comprising titanium oxide or titanium oxide composite and other kind of oxide in the presence of an alkali to obtain cylindrical titanium oxide particles; washing and drying the particles; and calcining the particles at a temperature of 350 to 900 deg.C.
