摘要

PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for controlling a heater for an automobile are provided to automatically start an automobile and operate a heater within a range of set temperatures to control an indoor temperature, thereby maintaining a pleasant temperature without preheating or precooling the automobile. CONSTITUTION: A key input unit(10) receives heater operation setting control information. A temperature sensor(20) detects an indoor temperature of an automobile for generating an indoor temperature sensing signal. A control unit(30) receives the heater operation setting control information from the key input unit for storing the same on a memory, and receives the indoor temperature sensing signal from the temperature sensor and reads the heater operation setting control information so that the control unit compares a preliminarily set indoor temperature with the indoor temperature sensing signal for controlling start of the automobile and heater operations. An ignition switching unit(40) receives a heater driving control signal from the control unit for turning on an ignition switch to start the automobile. A heater(50) is operated by receiving the heater driving control signal output from the ignition switching unit. A power source unit(60) supplies power to drive an apparatus for controlling the heater.
