ACETYLCYSTEINE-CONTAINING ORAL FORMULATION IN WHICH UNPLEASANT TASTE AND ODOR OF ACETYLCYSTEINE IS MASKED BY CYCLODEXTRIN

PURPOSE: An oral formulation containing an acetylcysteine-cyclodextrin inclusion compound is provided. In the formulation, the addition of cyclodextrin masks the unpleasant taste and odor of acetylcysteine, the use of a pH controller improves the stability of the formulation. The formulation is simply manufactured, easily administered and has improved stability. CONSTITUTION: The oral formulation comprises: 0.1 to 70% by weight of an acetylcysteine-cyclodextrin inclusion compound containing acetylcysteine and cyclodextrin in a weight ratio of 1:1 to 6; and 0.1 to 10% by weight of a pH controller, 0.1 to 10% by weight of a thickener, 0.1 to 50% by weight of a sweetener or 0.1 to 10% by weight of a flavoring agent. The pH of the formulation is maintained in the range of 6 to 7.5. The cyclodextrin is one or more selected from the group consisting of -cyclodextrin, -cyclodextrin, -cyclodextrin and cyclodextrin derivatives. The pH controller is selected from the group consisting of citric acid, sodium citrate, succinic acid, sodium succinate, dibasic sodium phosphate, sodium phosphate and sodium hydroxide.
