PURPOSE: A process for purification of a recombinant human epidermal growth factor is provided to simplify the purification process, and reduce the time for purifying the recombinant human epidermal growth factor by recovering a protein without precipitation and simultaneously carrying out the microorganism removal and purification. CONSTITUTION: The process for purification of a recombinant human epidermal growth factor(rhEGF) comprises the steps of: culturing a recombinant microorganism Escherichia coli JM101(KCCM-1027) producing rhEGF in a medium; regulating the pH value of the cultured medium to pH 2.5 to 5.5; adsorbing the cultured medium to adsorption resin column to obtain an active fraction; and subjecting the active fraction to reverse-phase HPLC, wherein the adsorption resin is packed with agarose resin streamline SP having quartz as a nuclear or dextran coated agarose resin streamline SP; the elution of the adsorption resin column is carried out at pH 7.0 to 8.0; and the reverse-phase HPLC is C18 cartridge HPLC.
