METHOD FOR REPRODUCING ANIMATION DATA OF AN INTERACTIVE OPTICAL DISK AND A DEVICE THEREFOR, CONCERNED WITH EFFECTIVELY REPRODUCING THE ANIMATION DATA IN ASSOCIATION WITH MAIN A/V DATA

PURPOSE: A method for reproducing animation data of an interactive optical disk and a device therefor are provided to additionally record/read animation data on an optical disk, or to receive the animation data from a contents supply server, thereby effectively reproducing the animation data in association with main A/V data. CONSTITUTION: A device receives an MNG(Multimedia Network Graphics) file of animation data related to main A/V data from a contents supply server, or reads the file from an interactive optical disk to temporarily store the file. The device separates the MNG file of the animation data into a PNG(Portable Network Graphics) file and a JNG(JPEG Network Graphics) file, and decodes image data included in the PNG file and the JNG file into images, respectively. The device reproduces/outputs the decoded images as animation images in reference to control information included in each of the files.
