PURPOSE: Provided is a production method of clay blocks having diverse patterns and high surface strength by applying a glaze to the surface of clay blocks and forming patterns on the glaze. CONSTITUTION: The composition of a glaze comprises 10-90wt.% of clay materials and 10-90wt.% of stone materials as main materials, 0.4-1wt.%(based on the amounts of main materials) of methyl cellulose and/or 1-10wt.% of tri sodium phosphate anhydrous, and optionally 5-10wt.%(based on the amounts of main materials) of melting agents such as Pb3O4, frit and coal. A coloring composition(1) is prepared by mixing a composition containing 50-80wt.% of feldspar and 20-50wt.% of white clay, and 1-10wt.%(based on the amounts of the composition) of tri sodium phosphate anhydrous to be 30-45wt.% of moisture. A coloring composition(3a) contains 60-70wt.% of feldspar and 30-40wt.% of red clay, a coloring composition(3b) contains 60-70wt.% of feldspar and 30-40wt.% of white clay, and a coloring composition(3c) contains 60-70wt.% of feldspar, 30-40wt.% of white clay, and pigments. The production method of clay blocks comprises the steps of: (i) mixing raw materials to be 30-45wt.% of moisture content; (ii) extruding raw materials to a block shape; (iii) applying the prepared glaze over blocks to be a 1-80mm thickness for forming patterns, and optionally spraying the coloring composition(1) over the glaze of clay blocks and spraying the coloring composition(3a, 3b or 3c) over the first coloring composition for coloring with other colors; (iv) forming blocks by patterning on the glaze and cutting to a proper size; (v) drying formed blocks at 60-100deg.C for 70hrs; and (vi) sintering at 1100-1250deg.C.
