PURPOSE: A lithium ion battery and its preparation method are provided, to improve the reversible capacity, charge/discharge cycle property and lifetime by inhibiting the decomposition of solvents and forming a thinner and more uniform passivation layer on a carbon electrode. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the steps of adding a platinum catalyst to an electrolyte solution, and making a lithium ion battery by using the electrolyte solution. Preferably the platinum catalyst is powder or wire-shaped.
