PRESSURIZED LIGHT WATER REACTOR HAVING BIDIRECTIONAL HORIZONTAL EMERGENCY CORE COOLANT SPLITTERS CAPABLE OF AVOIDING TEMPERATURE RISE OF FUEL CLADDING MATERIAL
PURPOSE: A pressurized light water reactor is provided to prevent a temperature rise of a fuel cladding material and re-heating of a core during a late re-flood phase upon occurrence of large break loss-of-coolant accidents. CONSTITUTION: A pressurized light water reactor comprises a plurality of bidirectional horizontal emergency core coolant splitters(50) each of which has a vertical plate(55), an upper plate(60), a lower plate(65), and auxiliary baffles(70). The bidirectional horizontal emergency core coolant splitters are attached to the outer surface of a core barrel opposed to emergency core coolant injection pipe. The vertical plate has two curves divided centering from a vertical center line.
