PURPOSE: A sauce(yangnyeom) composition having excellent functionality for seasoning beef ribs or pork ribs containing an extract of Astragali Radix, Radix Angelicae Sinensis, Cnidii Rhizoma, Glycyrrhizae Radix and Lycii Fructus is provided. It has an effect of reducing neutral lipid, total cholesterol and phospholipid levels as well as diabetes, therefore is effective in treatment of vascular disease. CONSTITUTION: The functional sauce composition contains an extract of herbal material containing Astragali Radix, Radix Angelicae Sinensis, Cnidii Rhizoma, Glycyrrhizae Radix and Lycii Fructus in a ratio of 28:20:18:18:16(w/w) and additionally an effective amount of pine needle extract, phytosterol, Cordyceps Sinensis powder and silkworm powder. The herbal extract is obtained by concentrating at 50 to 60deg.C and in a vacuum of 758mmHg to 50Brix. The sauce composition also contains pure soy sauce, starch syrup, sugar, black pepper, sesame oil, roasted sesame, MSG, guar gum, garlic, onions, ginger, green onions or the like.
