PURPOSE: A device for automatically controlling LCD screen brightness is provided to perceive a brightness state through a histogram analysis for image data on a subject inputted from a camera, and to automatically control the brightness of an LCD screen, thereby maintaining an optimal LCD screen brightness state. CONSTITUTION: An image detector/image processor(110) detects image data of a terminal camera, and processes detected image information. A histogram processor(100) detects brightness information per pixel according to peripheral brightness of a subject to be pictured, and automatically controls brightness shown on an LCD screen of a terminal. The histogram processor(100) comprises as follows. A pixel information detector(101) receives the brightness information. A pixel information processor(102) processes distributions of the number of pixels detected by the pixel information processor(102). An LCD brightness controller(103) controls a register value of an LED, and controls the brightness of the LCD screen.
